Repair work teaches you things that construction work alone does not. Spend three decades cutting into slabs and walls to find out where water got in, and you build a list of the mistakes that keep recurring: the parapet junction nobody detailed, the bathroom that was never properly tanked, the terrace laid without a fall so water stands on it, the pipe passing through a slab with nothing sealed around it, the sunshade cast without a drip groove.
None of these cost much to get right while the building is going up. All of them are expensive and disruptive to fix afterwards — and every one of them is something we have been called out to repair on somebody else’s work.
So when we build, waterproofing and thermal detailing are not a trade that turns up near the end. They are part of the sequence from the start.
We look at the plot, talk through what you want, and are honest about what the site and the budget will and will not allow.
A written scope and an itemised estimate, so you can see what is included and what is not. Vagueness at this stage is where disputes come from later.
Structure, then the detailing that protects it. Waterproofing at slabs, terraces and wet areas is done at the right point in the programme, not retro-fitted at the end.
Checks happen while things are still accessible. Once a slab is finished, an error underneath it is expensive to find.
We walk the finished building with you and tell you what needs maintaining and when.
Alongside new construction we take on structural and civil repair work — the kind of job where something has cracked, settled, spalled or started leaking and needs proper diagnosis before anyone starts patching.
