Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions Agra property owners actually ask us. If yours is not here, call or WhatsApp — we would rather answer it properly than have you guess.

Yes. We come out, look at the problem, and tell you what we think it needs. There is no charge, no obligation to book work with us, and no follow-up pressure if you decide to go elsewhere or do nothing.

Usually at a junction or a penetration — where a terrace meets a parapet, around a rainwater outlet or a pipe collar, at a construction joint, or through a crack. Water then travels through the slab or the masonry, sometimes several metres, before it surfaces.

That is why we inspect the area above and around the damage rather than only the damage itself, and it is the single biggest reason waterproofing jobs fail: someone treated where the water came out, not where it went in.

You can, and it will look fine until the water comes back through — usually within one season. Paint is not a barrier. Even damp-proof paint applied to a wall that is actively carrying water will blister off it, because the water is pushing from behind.

Repainting is worth doing after the water has been stopped. On its own it is a cosmetic delay, not a repair.

We are an authorised applicator for Sreechem Resins Limited and apply their waterproofing systems to manufacturer specification. Which specific system depends on the surface, on how it is failing, and — for tanks — on whether the water is for drinking.

It depends on the area, its condition, how much preparation and repair is needed before any coating goes on, and the curing time between coats. Curing especially: rushing it is one of the most common ways a coating gets ruined before it has done a single monsoon.

We give you a specific timeline after the inspection rather than a number over the phone.

Before the monsoon, not during it. The work needs a dry, properly prepared surface and uninterrupted curing time, so the months leading up to the rains are ideal.

If you are already leaking mid-monsoon, call anyway. Some remedial work can be done immediately to limit the damage, and we can programme the full treatment for when the weather allows.

Most often one of three reasons. The source was never correctly identified, so the right area was never treated. Or the surface was not prepared properly, so the coating never bonded. Or the material was stretched thinner than its specified coverage to save cost.

All three look identical on the day the job finishes. They only separate out a year or two later.

Yes. We are based in Agra and cover the city and the areas around it, and we take projects across Delhi NCR. For a small job a long way from us, we will usually be honest that a good local contractor makes more sense.

Where it makes sense, yes — and it usually does. Both need the same surface preparation, so doing them in one visit is normally cheaper than doing them a year apart, and it means the two systems are chosen to work together rather than one being applied over the other by accident.

For terrace and roof work, almost never. For bathroom waterproofing, that bathroom is out of use for a few days but the rest of the house is normal. For extensive basement or structural work it depends on the scope, and we will tell you honestly at the inspection.
